Mohamed Elneny looks set join Arsenal in January
According to reports in Egypt, the 23-year-old is expected in France for tests after agreeing personal terms with the Gunners.
Elneny will become Arsenal’s first signing of the transfer window, providing midfield cover after a host of injuries.
The striker has had a difficult season with disciplinary issues and poor form.
And Atletico president Enrique Cerezo admitted the door is still open for Costa.
He told Spanish channel RTVE: ”Right now, Diego is a Chelsea player and he has to focus on Chelsea.
"But you never know what will happen in football and sometimes players do return to their former clubs."

Steve Mandanda has been offered to Liverpool to help solve their goalkeeper crisis.
Simon Mignolet and Adam Bogdan have both been at fault for goals conceded by the Reds and manager Jurgen Klopp is understood to be keen on signing new goalkeeper in January.
French newspaper L’Equipe say Marseille are open to selling Mandanda for around £2.95million (€4m).
