Jurgen Klopp slams referee and Liverpool players after defeat at Watford
JURGEN KLOPP has hit out at referee Mark Clattenburg after today's 3-0 defeat at Watford.
Jurgen Klopp says Watford's opener shouldn't have counted
Adam Bogdan, standing in for the injured Simon Mignolet, endured a nightmare league debut for Liverpool, gifting Nathan Ake Watford's early opening goal.
Ake picked Bogdan's pocket to prod home the opener after he dropped the ball from a corner, but Klopp believes the Reds goalkeeper had both hands on the ball after the initial mistake.
Klopp was also critical of the way his players responded to the goal as in-form striker Odion Ighalo scored either side of half-time to wrap up the three points for the Hornets.
"We tried a bit in the first half and changed a bit half-time, the start to the second half was very good, we could have scored two goals, but we didn’t and then the third goal. Yeah, game over.
“The first one is his [Bogdan] fault, but then both hands on the ball, that is the goalkeeper safe, he has the ball.
"It was the wrong decision but we made more wrong decisions."
