Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew tipped to replace Jose Mourinho at Chelsea
CRYSTAL PALACE boss Alan Pardew has been tipped to replace Jose Mourinho at Chelsea by former Blues striker Tony Cascarino.
Alan Pardew has been backed to succeed Jose Mourinho at Chelsea
Mourinho was sacked at Stamford Bridge yesterday with the reigning Premier League champions languishing 16th in the table and just one point above the relegation zone.
A host of high-profile names have been linked with the position already, including Diego Simeone, Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola and Guus Hiddink - who is expected to take charge on an interim basis.
"He has the ability, the ego and the bravery. Pardew can handle any owner, even one as demanding as Roman Abramovich," he added.
"After all, Pardew survived four years at Newcastle United under Mike Ashley and that was remarkable in itself."
