Everton keep tabs on Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell
The Toffees sent scouts to watch United Under-21s 6-1 victory over Leicester on Monday night, where Powell impressed with two goals.
And according to Clubcall, the Merseysiders are considering a move for the 21-year-old next summer when his contract expires.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez reportedly tried to sign Powell during his four-year spell in charge of Wigan.
"Nick's worked extremely hard," Joyce said. "It's been a testing time, as you expect when you're injured and obviously out for this amount of time with an injury.
"But his attitude has been outstanding in the gym and out on the training field.
"I think, to be fair, he is looking in the best condition he has ever been in his life. Hopefully, he kicks on with that now when the games start coming."
