Arsene Wenger confirms Arsenal star Francis Coquelin ruled out for three months
FRANCIS COQUELIN has been ruled out of action for three months.
Francis Coquelin faces three months on the sidelines
Coquelin damaged his knee ligaments during the 2-1 defeat to West Brom on Saturday.
The French midfielder hobbled off after just 14 minutes of that game and was subsequently replaced by Mikel Arteta.
Initially, it was feared that Couqelin would be on the sidelines for up to two months.
However, Wenger has revealed the extent of Coquelin’s injury.
“It is what we feared, basically. Let's be realistic and count 12 weeks,” Wenger said.
Wenger now has only two fit midfielders to call upon - Mathieu Flamini and Santi Cazorla.

The French tactician has also revealed he will do ‘whatever is needed’ to sign a midfielder when the January transfer window reopens.
Coquelin, who will miss a busy festive programme, will be unavailable for a series of crunch games which sees Arsenal take on Liverpool and Chelsea.
