Louis van Gaal insists his sides do play attacking football
The Manchester United legend has slammed the Dutch boss for his tactical approach in recent weeks, in particular his attacking style of play.
There’s been talk of a philosophy, a process but Manchester United don’t need a philosophy," he said.
“The fans want to see attacking football and goals – that’s the Manchester United way.
“It hasn’t been great for 13 months but I’d better not say too much because Louis might be listening."
However, Van Gaal doesn't think there's anything wrong with his teams' abilities in front of goal, highlighting his free-scoring Ajax side of the 1990s.
"We didn’t have any money and we were bankrupt, so I had to look to youth. We scouted Jari Litmanen, a Finnish player, who we bought for £10,000," he told The Telegraph.

I don’t say it too much because otherwise Mr Scholes will be very angry
"We also bought Finidi George. He was a Nigerian international. He was £3,000. I paid it by myself! And then, we bought Marc Overmars
"But the names that you do remember are Clarance Seedorf, Patrick Kluivert, Michael Reiziger.
"We won everything with very attacking football. I don’t say it too much because otherwise Mr Scholes will be very angry," he joked.
