Louis van Gaal 'proud' of Man Utd's improved defence against City after Arsenal thrashing
LOUIS VAN GAAL was full of praise for his Manchester United defence after yesterday's clean sheet against Manchester City.
Louis van Gaal pleased to keep clean sheet against Manchester City
United managed just one shot on target during the Old Trafford clash - as did City - but impressed at the back to keep out the Premier League's top goalscorers.
And Van Gaal was pleased to see improvements in defence after his back line was exposed in the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal earlier in the month.
"It was only against Arsenal when it was not good. But that was a very bad start from a lot of players – and Arsenal were very good."
The Dutchman added: "I am very proud of my players because I think we played 90 minutes of a tough game. Both sides played a very tactical game."
