After the match, ex-Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder McManaman took a swipe at United's tactics.
He told BT Sport: "When you've got Marouane Fellaini on at half-time to go and win the game and they go a bit more direct I'm sorry but you're struggling if he's the type of person Manchester United rely on."
