Liverpool planning to appoint Brendan Rodgers' successor before Tottenham showdown
LIVERPOOL are reportedly hoping to appoint a new manager before their next Premier League game.
Brendan Rodgers lost his job as Liverpool boss yesterday
The Reds sacked Brendan Rodgers yesterday in the wake of their 1-1 derby draw against Everton.
Express Sport understands the Reds are interested in hiring former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, but Carlo Ancelotti has ruled himself out of the running to take over.
A statement from the club said that "the search for a new manager is under way".
However, according to Sky Sports, Liverpool won't rush in appointing a new boss.
They suggest that it is unclear which other managers will be approached over the vacancy.
Jurgen Klopp is on Liverpool's wishlist
But the club are thought to be keen to have a new person in the hot seat before they take on Tottenham on October 17.
It is also thought there are no immediate plans to appoint a caretaker.
