Former Newcastle and Aston Villa managers have say on Rodgers' Liverpool job
BRENDAN RODGERS must try and block out the criticism heading his way as pressure mounts on Liverpool to sack their boss.
Brendan Rodgers is under pressure to get results at Liverpool
That is the view of former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert, who says Northern Irishman Rodgers will have been affected by calls for him to quit.
Liverpool have endured a rocky start to the season but head into their league clash at Everton this afternoon (1.30pm) unbeaten in two outings.
They beat Villa 3-2 last weekend and Lambert, who was sacked by the midlands club in February, told the BBC exactly what Rodgers will be feeling.
"You'd have to go to the moon to block it (the criticism) out," he said.

"All you do is get your head down. It depends how mentally strong you are. It's not nice to hear it but it is part and parcel of the game."
Fellow Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer, who took charge of Newcastle in 2009 but couldn't steer the club away from relegation, said: "He is under pressure like any other manager.
"Whether you like it or not, the money that has been spent at Liverpool brings its own pressure.
"The recruitment hasn't been as good as it could have been at Liverpool."
