Liverpool fans leap to defence of star after abuse for congratulating Man Utd striker
JOE GOMEZ was forced to delete a post from his official Twitter account after a minority of fans turned against him.

The Liverpool youngster sent out a congratulatory message to Wayne Rooney after he broke the England goalscoring record.
However, his tweet didn't go down well with one Liverpool fan in particular due to Rooney's past connections with rivals Everton.
The irate fan even suggested he wanted to see Gomez dropped in place of Jose Enrique this weekend.
Despite the outburst, his opinion does not appear to reflect how most supporters feel about the Tweet.

In fact they, lept to the defence the 18-year-old in their droves and were also quick to offer their own congratulations to Rooney as well.
United host Liverpool at Old Trafford on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off).
Both clubs are sweating over the fitness of key players, with United's Michael Carrick a doubt along with Reds striker Christian Benteke.
