Arsene Wenger has revealed he may sign a striker this summer should a suitable candidate become available.
And Arsenal fans were sent into a transfer frenzy yesterday after a cryptic Instagram post from top target Benzema.
But it now appears that the Frenchman is going nowhere, having appeared in a Real Madrid photoshoot for Adidas in Shanghai, where the Spanish giants are on pre-season tour.
"Bale, James, Benzema, Arbeloa and Lucas Silva starred at an Adidas event in Shanghai #RMTour2015," Real tweeted.
Karim Benzema is on Real Madrid's pre-season tour of Asia
Benzema had sparked speculation by posting a picture on a private jet with the comment: "Leave the past to the past. #directionfuture".
Arsenal have been linked with a £40million move for the 27-year-old, who is also a long-term target for Manchester United.
However, The Independent report that the picture is old with Benzema now spotted back among the Madrid touring party in Asia.
