Man Utd coach confirms fierce competition from Chelsea and Liverpool for Barca star Pedro
MANCHESTER UNITED goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek says a deal for Barcelona winger Pedro will be difficult to pull off.
Pedro - Spotlight on
Reports had suggested that United representatives were set to hold meetings yesterday to try and thrash out a move.
Pedro has a £22million release clause in his contract and is thought to be keen on a move to Manchester.
Liverpool and Chelsea are both reportedly still in the race for the 27-year-old, however.
And Hoek hinted that there were still several barriers - not least the competition from their Premier League rivals - to United landing their man.
Pedro has been linked with a move to Manchester United
He told Spanish daily Sport: "Pedro? We'll see, many things can happen in the world of football, but it's very difficult."
United are said to be reluctant to pay the full £22m fee up front and are keen to agree a less demanding pay structure.
