The legendary manager has been criticised for allowing Pogba to leave Manchester United on a free transfer in 2011.
Reports suggest it will now cost £70million to lure the midfielder away from Juventus this summer.
United are thought to be interested in bringing Pogba back to Old Trafford but face competition from Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
I'd sell Pogba
But Ferguson believes the time is right for Juve to cash in on their prize-asset.
He was quoted by Italian paper Tuttosport as saying: "Yes, I'd sell Pogba.
"Yes, it's true I already ended up losing him on a free, but now, if I were Juve, I'd sell."
Paul Pogba is valued at £70m
Ferguson also admitted his admiration for the Juve side that went all the way to the Champions League final last season.
He added: "They're a fantastic team.
"They've won the league four times in a row and in the Champions League I think they were unfortunate because they were hit on the counterattack by Barcelona, but before that they'd dominated the game."
