Marseille risk losing Dimitri Payet to Newcastle, West Ham or Everton as wage drops
MARSEILLE may be forced to offer Dimitri Payet a new deal to avoid losing the winger to the Premier League.
Dimitri Payet could find a new club in the summer if Marseille don't resolve his contract issue
According to reports in France, the 28-year-old has suffered an automatic wage drop after Marseille failed to qualify for the Champions League.
His salary has dropped from £250,000-a-month to £180,000-a-month as a result of the club's fourth-place finish in Ligue 1.
Marseille must renegotiate his contract or risk losing him
And if the France international is not offered a new and improved deal, Payet will begin looking for a new club, with West Ham, Newcastle and Everton all interested.
A source close to the club told French newspaper Le Parisien: “Marseille must renegotiate his contract or risk losing him.”
