The 25-year-old signed a five-year contract after successfully passing a medical this morning.
Vidal, who attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, sealed a move to the Catalan giants, despite the Champions League winners being under a transfer embargo until 2016.
The former Sevilla defender is likely to replace Dani Alves at right-back.
I've played for a lot of teams before arriving at Barça, but I hope this one's the last
Alves, who is a free agent this summer, has been tipped with a move to Old Trafford.
Barcelona posted a picture on their official Twitter account of Vidal putting the finishing touches to his deal alongside club president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
