Social media reacts to Sepp Blatter's resignation as FIFA president
AS SEPP BLATTER announced he will resign as FIFA president, Express Sport takes a look at how the world of football reacted to the news on social media.
Sepp Blatter has quit as FIFA president
Blatter has stepped down from football's world governing body after spending 17 years as president.
In announcing his exit, the 79-year-old called an extraordinary Fifa congress "as soon as possible" to elect a new president.
And FA chairman Greg Dyke was quick to hail the move from Blatter.
He told the BBC: "It is a good afternoon! I think it's brilliant for world football. This is the start of something new.
"The whole organisation of Fifa needs re-structuring. The whole organisation needs looking at financially."
Along with Dyke, the rest of the football world took to Twitter to welcome Blatter's decision to step down.
Blatter has resigned. Can't quite believe it. FIFA always appeared to be such a fine upstanding organisation.

Time for radical reform. Chance to expose & hold those accountable for any wrongdoing. I'd start by looking at who voted for Blatter. #FIFA

Blatter wasn't sole responsible, more have to follow. Transparency and voting reform, then we move on and bring back ethics. #FIFA
