Moussa Sissoko DESPERATE for Newcastle to make former Arsenal and City man new boss
MOUSSA SISSOKO has urged Newcastle to make Patrick Vieira their new boss.
Moussa Sissoko wants Patrick Vieira at Newcastle
Vieira is thought to be holding talks with the Newcastle hierarchy today about replacing John Carver at St James' Park.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City star completed his coaching badges this week and could leave the Etihad - where he has been in charge of the youth set-up - to take his first steps in management.
If he comes to Newcastle I would be very happy.
The Magpies have also been linked with a move for former England boss Steve McClaren after he was let go by Derby last week.
But Sissoko is excited by the prospect of working under a fellow Frenchman on Tyneside.
He told French radio station RMC: "I heard about this yesterday. If he comes to Newcastle I would be very happy.
Patrick Vieira is in talks with Newcastle
"He was a role model for me. He played in the same position as I do. He allowed me to learn faster and faster, to be the best.
"At the moment, the manager is still John Carver. Even if the second half of the season was difficult, he is someone who I appreciate."
