That's according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, who reckons that the Red Devils are looking to sign the Argentina international.
Higuain's future in the Serie A looks uncertain following Rafa Benitez's departure for Real Madrid and Napoli's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.

As reported earlier by Express Sport, Napoli have already told United that they are prepared to sell the striker for £42million, with Liverpool and Arsenal also believed to be interested.
But according to Palmeri, it appears that United have made the first move by speaking to Higuain over a possible move to Old Trafford following loanee Radamel Falcao's return to Monaco.
