Faddy not happy with goldfish life at Celtic or Rangers
Scotland star James McFadden has killed all talk of an Old Firm move stone-dead - by insisting he couldn't stand life in the Glasgow goldfish bowl.
Celtic tried to land the 25-year-old while he was at Motherwell and both the Parkhead club and Rangers have been linked with a big-money move to snatch him in the wake of Birmingham City's relegation from the English Premiership.
McFadden was coy over his future at St Andrews when he met up with the national squad ahead of tonight's Hampden friendly with Northern Ireland.
However, he made it clear there is no chance he will be returning north to star with either of the SPL's Big Two.
McFadden said: “To be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t entertain a move to Glasgow.
“I’m happy to be playing outside Scotland at the minute, especially with the kind of press that’s been going about for Rangers and Celtic.

“I’m quite happy to be away from it.
“I read the papers and I watch the television and there has been some bad press for Rangers recently.
“I’m afraid that’s what you get at the two biggest teams.
“There are always stories to be written, whether they are good or bad.”
McFadden heard rumours last week that he was actually talking to the Old Firm about a summer move and felt he had to shoot them down.
He said: “I wasn’t at Ibrox or Parkhead last week, so that’s how far those rumours went.”
McFadden joined Birmingham from Everton in a £5.5million deal in January, but has refused to say whether he'll be staying there for the long-term. He said: “It’s hard to tell, but I'm there at the minute unless told otherwise.”
