Liverpool to step up Alexandre Lacazette bid with Man Utd winning race for Memphis Depay
LIVERPOOL are preparing to step up their interest in Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to reports.
Alexandre Lacazette Player Profile
Brendan Rodgers yesterday admitted that goals have been a problem for his side this season.
And the Reds will now turn to Lacazette - the top scorer in Ligue 1 this season - in a bid to address the issue.
It is simply impossible.
According to Goal, Liverpool's top target is PSV star Memphis Depay.
But the Anfield outfit have accepted that the Dutch star is likely to join Manchester United, forcing them to turn to the 23-year-old France international.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City are all keeping tabs on Lacazette, while Newcastle have reportedly failed in a bid for the striker in the past.
Alexandre Lacazette is wanted by Liverpool
Lyon continue to insist that Lacazette will not be sold however, as they prepare to move into a new stadium.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said recently: "It is simply impossible. He will be with us at the Stade des Lumieres and the Champions League."
