Man Utd to KEEP Juan Mata through summer as Valencia END £30m pursuit
VALENCIA have ended their interest in re-signing Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata.
Juan Mata - Player Profile
Mata has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent months with the Spaniard struggling to cement a first-team place under Louis van Gaal.
Valencia - where he spent four years before his move to Chelsea in 2011 - were tipped to bring the 26-year-old back to La Liga in a £30m deal.
However, reports in Spain now suggest the Mestalla outfit have no desire to re-sign him.
Valencia will not attempt to re-sign Juan Mata in the summer
The news is likely to come as a boost to United fans, who have witnessed two stunning performances from Mata in the latest wins to Tottenham and Liverpool.
The diminutive midfielder bagged twice in the latter fixture to send the Red Devils five-points clear of the fifth-placed Reds.
Atletico Madrid are also credited with an interest in Mata, but Van Gaal may look to keep hold of him should his impressive form continue.
