Arsene Wenger will DROP David Ospina for Arsenal’s Man Utd trip if Wojciech Szczesny's fit
WOJCIECH SZCZESNY will return to Arsenal’s starting XI against Manchester United on Monday (7:45pm) if he overcomes a fitness test later today, according to boss Arsene Wenger.
Wojciech Szczesny could start against Manchester United on Monday
The 24-year-old goalkeeper lost his first-choice status in the defeat at Southampton on New Year's Day, where the Pole was responsible for both the goals in a 2-0 defeat.
Summer signing David Ospina has since taken over the responsibility in the Premier League and in Europe, while Szczesny started in the FA Cup fifth-round clash against Middlesbrough.
Wojciech is used to playing big games
The Pole failed to make the bench against QPR on Wednesday through illness, but could start against United in the FA Cup quarter-finals should he return to full fitness.
“He will have a test today and if he gets through that he will play on Monday night,” Wenger said on Szczesny's availability.
“Wojciech is used to playing big games and I think that he will take it as a big challenge to show his quality.
“He works very hard and I don’t think [his lack of match action] will be a problem.”
