TWO superb curling efforts from Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho in either half handed Liverpool a 2-1 victory against Manchester City at Anfield.

Henderson opened the scoring in the 10th minute when his stunning curling shot thundered into the top right hand corner of the goal.
However, Manchester City responded almost immediately when Sergio Aguero's shot ricocheted off the post.
City, who have not won at Anfield for 12 years, equalised through Edin Dzeko 14 minutes later.

But Coutinho secured all three points for Liverpool with his 74th minute goal – almost identical to Henderson's opener.
It was a further dent to the visitor's title aspirations with Manuel Pellegrini's second-placed side missing the chance to reduce the gap to Chelsea.
They are now five points behind Jose Mourinho's men having played a game extra, but Liverpool leapfrog Southampton into fifth.
