Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger OPENS TALKS with Chelsea and Liverpool's £20m target Destro
ARSENAL have opened talks to sign Roma striker Mattia Destro.
Arsenal step up interest in Roma striker Mattia Destro
Arsene Wenger is in the market for a striker in the January window after back-up forward Lukas Podolski forced through a loan move to Inter Milan for the rest of the season.
And the French tactician has set his sights on the 23-year-old Destro - who has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Chelsea - and is keen to activate his reported £20m buy-out clause.
The Italy international is understood to be keen on a move away from Roma after falling down the pecking order this term, starting just eight Serie A games.

Giallorossi boss Rudi Garcia currently favours Gervinho, Francesco Totti and Adem Ljajic up front.
And according to today's reports in Italy, Wenger has already scheduled a meeting with Destro's agent Claudio Vigorelli to negotiate a potential move.
The Gunners yesterday completed the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Krystian Bielik and are reportedly closing in on a £15m move for Villarreal centre-back Gabriel Paulista.
