Man Utd to table £15m Gerard Pique bid after Stefan Savic REJECTS interest with new deal
MANCHESTER UNITED are to step up their interest in Barcelona's Gerard Pique after failing to sign Fiorentina's Stefan Savic.
Stefan Savic turns down chance to return to the Premier League
The Red Devils - as well as Tottenham - were linked with a move for the 24-year-old Savic over the summer, and were set to renew their interest before the January window closes.
However, the Montenegro international has shot down any chance of a return to the Premier League - having previously flopped at rivals Manchester City - by signing a new four-and-a-half-year deal at Fiorentina.
A statement from the Viola read: "Fiorentina announces it has reached an agreement with Stefan Savic to renew his contract.

"Savic has signed a contract that will keep him tied to the club until June 30, 2019."
And according to reports in Spain, Van Gaal is preparing a £15m bid to bring Barca centre-half Pique back to Old Trafford after missing out on Savic.
The pair previously worked together at the Nou Camp during Van Gaal's two stints in charge of the La Liga giants from 1997-2000 and 2002-2003.
