Man Utd News: Di Maria's PLEA, Ronaldo update, FOUR stars to miss Spurs clash
ANGEL DI MARIA has begged Manchester United to sign £30m rated Nicolas Gaitan, while Cristiano Ronaldo won't be heading back to Old Trafford. Louis van Gaal will be without four players for their trip to Spurs tomorrow (midday).
Di Maria has urged Louis van Gaal to sign Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan next month.
The Red Devils have been on Gaitan's tail since the summer, but their hopes were dashed when the 26-year-old signed a new deal in November.
Although Gaitan now has a £30m release clause inserted into his contract, Di Maria has reportedly tried to coax the Old Trafford hierarchy that the fee represents good value for money.
Liverpool and Tottenham have expressed an interest in the players in the past, but United appear to have the best chance of securing a deal.
Manchester United fans are unlikely to see Ronaldo pull on the Red Devils shirt again.
The 29-year-old Portuguese superstar has become a legend at Real Madrid, and could get his hands on the coveted Ballon d'Or award for the second year running next month.
Despite becoming a fans' favourite during his illustrious spell at Old Trafford, Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes thinks his client will finish his career at the Bernabeu.
"I believe that Cristiano will finish his career at Real Madrid. He's happy at the club and is still keen to achieve more success in Madrid," Mendes told Globo Esporte.
Van Gaal will be without four players for his side's crunch clash away to Tottenham on Sunday (midday).
Belgian duo Adnan Januzaj and Marouane Fellaini are both doubts after they sat out the 3-1 win over Newcastle due to a virus.
Meanwhile, £59.7m signing Angel Di Maria missed the win with a pelvic injury during a training session on Christmas Eve, while the game appears to have come too soon for Marcos Rojo.
There is a chance however that Luke Shaw could be available after he took part in the post-match training warm down at Old Trafford yesterday.
