Arsenal Transfers: Schneiderlin to SNUB Tottenham, £16m Sissoko bid, Krychowiak boost
ARSENAL could land Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin ahead of Tottenham, while a £16m bid is being lined up by Newcastle star Moussa Sissoko. Meanwhile, the Gunners have been given a boost in their pursuit of Gregorz Krychowiak.
Morgan Schneiderlin player profile
Arsenal are set to beat bitter north London rivals Tottenham to Schneiderlin's signature.
Schneiderlin along with Saints team-mate Jay Rodriguez was tipped with a move to Spurs in the summer, but ended up staying at St Mary's.
The midfielder hasn't hidden his desire to play for a 'big club' and was supposedly unhappy Spurs tried to get him on the cheap.
But fresh reports indicate Arsenal are lining up a £25m bid to bring the 25-year-old to the Emirates.
Wenger could be set for a busy window, as he is preparing a £16m bid for Sissoko.
He has already put the club on alert by admitting he is an Arsenal fan and he said: "Arsenal were my favourite club when I was young and my idol was Patrick Vieira. I have always loved this club and I still love them."
Though Sissoko has thrived as an attacking midfielder, it is thought Wenger hopes to deploy the player in a deeper role should he sign him.
Arsenal are also hoping to land Krychowiak, who has hinted he could leave Sevilla next month.
Wenger has made signing a holding midfielder a priority and Krychowiak hash underlined his desire to play in the Champions League.
He said: "I needed to change club and became much more ambitious. Each year, I want to be playing in Europe, and the goal is to be in the Champions League."
