Arsenal are hoping Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain makes the trip to Liverpool
The 21-year-old winger was pulled off for precautionary measures on Saturday in the Gunners' emphatic 4-1 win over Newcastle at the Emirates.
Arsenal's injury problems have showed no signs of abating with Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Laurent Koscielny to name but a few players out on the sidelines at the moment.
Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up a groin strain with Arsene Wenger bringing him off.
According to reports, Oxlade-Chamberlain will be sent for a scan and assessed over the next few days ahead of Sunday's trip to Liverpool.
Arsene Wenger said Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain was brought off for precautionary measures
Talking about why he brought off Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wenger said: "I wanted to take him off and then he takes the ball and crosses the whole pitch and cannot run any more.
“We cannot afford to lose him at the moment. He’s got a pain in his groin. I took him to Galatasaray and maybe two games was a lot for him.”
The early indications suggest it may not be too serious, but Arsenal are hoping it won't rule him out of the crunch clash at Anfield.
