Arsenal News and Transfers: Sanchez's Barcelona boast, Benzema BOOST, Wenger eyes up Fekir
ARSENAL and Liverpool are on tenterhooks over Karim Benzema, while Alexis Sanchez thinks the Gunners are Barcelona's equals. Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger has set his sights on Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir.
Karim Benzema Player Profile
Sanchez believes Arsenal are every bit as good as his old club Barcelona.
The Chilean has been sensational for the Gunners this term, scoring 14 goals for 22 appearances.
And he believes the current crop of Arsenal players are just as good as the Catalan giants, even though they have few medals to show for their endeavours on the pitch.
"You only need to take a glance around [a training session] to see that. It is the same level, more or less, as there was at Barcelona."
The Gunners are ready to pounce for Karim Benzema next summer.
Wenger has five strikers on his books at the moment, but Real Madrid are reportedly ready to cash in on Benzema, who is also a target for Liverpool in the summer.
Benzema only signed a new five-year deal with Los Blancos in the summer but it's not clear how much the La Liga giants would be prepared to accept for him.
Wenger has set his sights on trying to sign Lyon starlet Fekir.
The 21-year-old has turned heads with his impressive displays, but Lyon will only listen to offers north of £8m.
He has scored six goals in 12 Ligue 1 games this term.
