REVEALED: Chelsea and Liverpool top Premier League spend on agents at £31m combined
PREMIER LEAGUE clubs lavished more than £115m in agents’ fees in the last two transfer windows as the amount of money paid middle-men continues to spiral.
Chelsea spent £16.7m on agents' fees over two years
Official figures released by the Premier League revealed payments of £115,202,886m between October 2013 and September 2014 which is up from £96,673,089m over the corresponding period the previous year.
Chelsea spent the most on agents’ fees with their payments totalling £16,771,328, but Liverpool were the second highest with an outlay of £14,308,444.
Liverpool’s dealings in and out of Anfield were all done in the summer as they looked to build on last season’s second place finish. The figure represents a rise from £9,400,973 on the previous year and the continuation of an upward trend. Between October 2011 and September 2012, Liverpool spent £8,600,444.
Only two other clubs joined Chelsea and Liverpool in committing more than £10m to agents with Manchester City coming in at £12,811,946 and Tottenham £10,983,011.

In contrast, Manchester United’s outlay was £7,975,556.
The lowest spenders for the past year were Premier League newboys Burnley who spent £711,024 on fees.
The amounts include payments made by clubs on behalf of players.
