Schalke 0 - Chelsea 5: Blues qualify for knock-out stages after convincing win
CHELSEA boss Jose Mourinho has led his side to the Champions League knock-out stages after a convincing 5-0 win over Schalke.
John Terry opens the scoring for Chelsea
The Blues broke the deadlock in Gelsenkirchen through skipper John Terry, who climbed above two Schalke defenders to head in a Cesc Fabregas corner.
And half an hour later winger Willian doubled his side's lead, driving his shot past Ralf Fahrmann after a superb exchange with Fabregas and Oscar.
The visitors were gifted a third just before the half-time whistle when defender Jan Kirchhoff guided the ball past his own keeper from a corner.
The Stamford Bridge outfit put the game beyond any doubt with a fourth in the 76th minute, with Willian unselfishly squaring the ball for substitute Didier Drogba to tap home.
And Chelsea made sure Schalke left red-face two minutes later with a fifth, with Ramires, who came on just moments before, rising high to reach a floated Drogba cross.
Mourinho's men are go through to the last-16 of the Champions League as winners of Group G, with Schalke now in danger of failing to qualify.
