Napoli RULE OUT move to bring Liverpool's Mario Balotelli back to Serie A in January
NAPOLI have ruled out a move to bring misfiring Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli back to Serie A in January.
Balotelli came off the bench to score the Reds' equaliser against Swansea in the Capital One Cup last night.
It was only the Italian international's second Liverpool goal since making a £16m move from AC Milan in the summer.
And with the 24-year-old coming in for heavy criticism in England, some reports had suggested that Napoli could offer the former Inter Milan star an escape route in the upcoming transfer window.
But Napoli's sporting director Riccardo Bigon has scotched the story, saying there is no truth to the rumours.
Newcastle v Liverpool - Premier League Preview
Balotelli has been rumoured to be going to Spain, England and Italy but I don't think it is a possibility.
He told Mediaset Premium: "Balotelli has been rumoured to be going to Spain, England and Italy but I don't think it is a possibility.
"The only truth is that Balotelli is a great player, who was bought by Liverpool and they believe in him.
"I wish him the best in his English adventure."
It now remains to be seen whether Balotelli can build on his goal last night or whether Liverpool will indeed look to cut ties with the enigmatic striker if he can't turn things around in the near future.
