NEIL REDFEARN took charge of Leeds training today ahead of his proposed confirmation as manager.
Academy coach Redfearn was brought back in as caretaker boss after Darko Milanic was sacked as head coach on Saturday.
He is expected to be named owner Massimo Cellino's third permanent head coach of the season.
This is Redfearn's fourth spell in charge of the United first team, having already overseen four games this campaign, in which the club went unbeaten.
The 49-year-old was also appointed caretaker in 2012 and 2013, following the respective sackings of Neil Warnock and Brian McDermott.

My contract continues to run and I'm on vacation
Milanic was dismissed after Leeds' 2-1 defeat to Watford left them winless in six games, although the Slovenian has insists he is on paid leave.
He said: "During this time I must be ready all the time to once again take over the team, if requested by the owner.
"My contract continues to run and I'm on vacation. I signed for two years and I will not terminate my contract.
"In six games I made a big step forward. It is true that we have had bad results, but we should win more points, we played better than results show.
"Just before my last match I could hear praises from all sides over how compact Leeds is now, how the situation is improving.
"Cellino said that I'm a loser? He should look at my CV."
