Man Utd and Chelsea target Gerard Pique provides update on Barcelona future
GERARD PIQUE has disappointed Manchester United and Chelsea, as he insists he wants to retire at Barcelona.
Recent reports suggested that Pique has been linked with a sensational £20million return to Old Trafford.
It has also been reported that Chelsea have their own plans for Pique and they are ready to hijack United's move.
But Pique, who has only started six matches for the Catalan giants this term, says he wants to finish his career at the Camp Nou.
"I was really happy and left a lot of friends [in Manchester], even if I didn't play as much as I'd wanted, but I've always said I want to stay here all my career and retire at Barcelona," he said.
I'm not thinking about leaving. I'm really happy if it's true that United want me but I'm a Barcelona fan
"At the moment I'm not thinking about leaving.
"I'm really happy if it's true that United want me but I'm a Barcelona fan, I have been since I was a kid. I want to stay here."
Pique made just 12 appearances during a four-year spell with United.
