Arturo Vidal 'to leave Juventus' and seal Man Utd move in January
MANCHESTER UNITED have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Arturo Vidal after the midfielder was backed to leave Juventus in January.
The Chile international was a long-term target during the summer for Louis Van Gaal, but the Dutchman's attempts to prise him from the Serie A proved unsuccessful.
The United boss is still keeping tabs on Vidal despite lining up moves for Roma's Kevin Strootman and Real Madrid's Sami Khedira, and could yet launch a bid for the former Bayer Leverkusen man.
Vidal recently hit the headlines in Italy after being dropped by Massimo Allegri following an incident outside a bar before heading off for international duty, although the player insists that reports have been sensationalised.

It seems to me that there will soon be a split [between Vidal and Juventus]
However, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, former Juventus star Nicola Amoruso believes that Vidal will leave the club for a fresh start in the near future, claiming that the midfielder has come to the end of the road in Turin.
He said: "It seems to me that there will soon be a split [between Vidal and Juventus].
"He is a player of value, but he needs to go and compete in other leagues."
