Roma set to DOUBLE Kevin Strootman's wages to end Man Utd's £75m interest
ROMA are prepared to double Kevin Strootman's salary to stave off interest from Manchester United.
Strootman has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since the appointment of Louis van Gaal as manager.
The Dutch tactician worked with the midfielder during his time in charge of the Netherlands national team, and is reportedly readying a January move.
Recent reports suggested Roma would only consider offers upwards of £75m for their prized asset, despite the Serie A giants still trying to tempt him to stay.
Kevin Strootman Player Profile
The 24-year-old returned to training this week and is on track to start for the first-team against Atalanta on November 22.
The news means Strootman will be available to buy in the January market.
However, Roma are willing to double the former PSV Eindhoven man's wages to £50,000-a-week in a bid to tempt him to stay on until 2019.
