Juventus to ditch Vidal's £27.5m price-tag for straight Mata swap in January
MANCHESTER UNITED could welcome long-term target Arturo Vidal in January with Juan Mata going the other way.
The Red Devils were strongly linked with a move for the Chile midfielder throughout the summer, but Juve were reluctant to sell their World Cup star.
The Serie A outfit no longer class the 27-year-old as indispensable and are understood to be open to a sale in January, valuing him at £27.5m.
Vidal has fallen out of favour at the Old Lady after he was fined £80,000 for turning up to training late following an alleged nightclub incident.

Today's reports in Italy claim the Bianconeri are also willing to make a direct swap for his services, and have a shortlist of players in mind.
Premier League's United are favourites to land Chilean, with Mata likely to be used in the deal, while Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri and Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti are also on their radar.
The Old Trafford outfit spent £37.1m on 26-year-old Mata last January and are reportedly open to offers for the former Chelsea man.
