Gareth Bale to be crowned Welsh Footballer of the Year for FOURTH time
GARETH BALE will cap a glorious year by winning a record fourth Welsh Footballer of the Year award tonight (Mon).
The Real Madrid superstar scored in his club's tenth Champions League success in the 4-1 triumph against cross-city rivals Atletico in Lisbon last May.
Now Bale will add more glory to his trophy cabinet by being crowned as Wales' finest player of 2014 at their annual awards ceremony in Cardiff.
The 25-year-old, who faced Athletic Bilbao in the 5-0 win at the Bernabeu last night (Sun), will stand outright as the most successful Welshman, beating three-time winners Mark Hughes and John Hartson for the coveted gong.
After completing the 90 minutes unscathed, Bale travelled to the Welsh capital after the La Liga clash to prepare for Wales' Euro 2016 home qualifiers against Bosnia this Friday and Cyprus next Monday.
His arrival back in his homeland is a major boost for Wales boss Chris Coleman, who is already without key duo Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen through injury.
