Liverpool's Yevhen Konoplyanka blow with Inter Milan in the driving seat
LIVERPOOL look set to miss out on Dnipro midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka when the transfer window reopens, with Inter Milan the frontrunners for his signature.
The Ukrainian winger was linked with a cluster of Premier League clubs in January, including Tottenham.
Liverpool came close to securing a deal on deadline day in January, but Dnipro pulled the plug in the last minute.
The Ukrainian club appear to have changed their stance on Konoplyanka and are willing to countenance a sale.
Reports suggest Inter are ready to meet the asking price, which is just shy of £18million.
Moreover, it is thought Konoplyanka has rejected a contract extension, which would pave the way for a move.
The 24-year-old could come into Brendan Rodgers' thinking again in January, but the priority could be to buy another defender.
