Hammers boss Sam Allardyce was openly in the market for a new striker during the summer transfer window after losing Andy Carroll to another long-term injury.
Mauro Zarate, Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho were all brought to Upton Park, but Ibisevic, 30, admits he was also a target.
And the Londoners could renew their interest in January after the Bosnian revaeled he would be open to a move.

He said: “I stayed but you never know, if a good offer comes in, I may leave.
“West Ham wanted me, but Stuttgart did not want to sell this summer.
“I have bigger ambitions so that is why I may yet leave.”
Ibisevic finished last season with 15 goals in his 33 appearances for Stuttgart.
