Benjamin Stambouli: I couldn't turn down a move to Tottenham
SUMMER signing Benjamin Stambouli claims he couldn't say no to Tottenham.
Stambouli, 24, completed his £4.7m move from Ligue 1 outfit Montpellier on transfer deadline day, penning a five-year deal.
The defensive midfielder admits he had the opportunity to re-join his home town club Marseille, while Fiorentina and Swansea City also showed an interest.
However, the former France Under-21 international claims he couldn't turn down a club of Tottenham's stature.
He said: “You can’t refuse a club like Tottenham. I didn’t hesitate.

You can’t refuse a club like Tottenham
“Going abroad was a choice for my personal life. I wanted to discover a new football, another culture.
“Marseille made me think a lot. It was not the right moment to go there.
“With Swansea, it was a good opening door to the Premier League, Fiorentina are a competitive team and Marseille are one of the best French teams, so I didn’t know what to do.
“It was very complex. And then Tottenham came along.”
