Arsenal keen to make DOUBLE swoop for Carvalho and Khedira following Arteta blow
ARSENAL are poised to make a concerted effort to land William Carvalho and Sami Khedira following Mikel Arteta's injury blow.
Arteta is set to be out for a minimum of two weeks after he picked up an ankle injury in the Champions League play off and will miss the Everton clash on Saturday (5:30pm).
Real Madrid have been tight-lipped over the future of Khedira, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Khedira however has been viewed as an ideal signing for Bayern Munich, as Franz Beckenbauer said: "Khedira would function well in any team. At Bayern Munich he would function well.
"He’s extremely good in his number six position and he could play alongside Schweinsteiger or Lahm. That would be perfect.”

A potential deal for Carvalho could be harder to get over the line after they saw a £20million bid rejected.
Reports suggest that Carvalho remains Arsene Wenger's top choice, but Khedira, who is valued at £12m would be more appealing to the Gunners.
Carvalho is likely to fetch in excess of £30m and previously attracted interest from Manchester United.
Arsenal are in need of a holding midfielder, but their main priority has been to bring in a new striker.
