Liverpool Transfer News: Sevilla's Moreno TAUNT, Agger's Anfield exit, Lavezzi setback
LIVERPOOL have been handed a major setback in their pursuit of Sevilla defender Alberto Moreno.
Alberto Moreno Player Profile
Sevilla president Jose Castro roundly dismissed suggestions that a deal had been agreed, leaving Liverpool chiefs in limbo just four days before their Premier League opener.
Castro did confirm that negotiations are in progress to bring the Spanish international to Anfield - but talks have yet to yield results.
It's believed that Moreno will cost Liverpool £16m - but until a deal has been agreed, it's likely Jon Flanagan will deputise.
A number of clubs are lining up bids for Daniel Agger
Dejan Lovren's arrival on Merseyside is good news for everyone at Liverpool, except Daniel Agger.
The 29-year-old Dane was forced to endure being overlooked for much of last season's successful campaign - often losing out to Kolo Toure and Martin Skrtel.
And the arrival of the £20m Croatian defender has further relegated Agger to fourth choice centre-half.
Premier League sides are queuing up to sign the experienced international - including West Ham, Tottenham and most notably - Arsenal.
Ezequiel Lavezzi Player Profile
Liverpool's hopes of signing Ezequiel Lavezzi have taken a significant knock after the Argentine was offered a new deal at PSG.
The dynamic forward has been heavily linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes this summer, but PSG chiefs are now prepared to ward of prospective buyers.
Lavezzi currently has a deal until June 2016, and a new contract would almost certainly see Lavezzi end his career in Paris.
