Brendan Rodgers talks up ability of "exciting" Liverpool star Raheem Sterling
LIVERPOOL boss Brendan Rodgers has praised Raheem Sterling after his "exciting" performance in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.
The Reds initially took the lead in Miami after Sterling was brought down in the box, setting up captain Steven Gerrard to convert from the penalty spot.
However, second-half strikes from Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard ensured the trophy went to fierce rivals United.
But Rodgers believes one of the positives to come from the defeat was Sterling's constant threat to the Red Devils' back-line.
