Tottenham forced to accelerate Antoine Griezmann bid as Atletico Madrid enter the fray
ATLETICO MADRID have joined Tottenham in the race to sign French international Antoine Griezmann.
It has been well documented that Spurs' initial £15m bid wasn't enough to loosen Real Sociedad's grip on their young starlet.
Leaving the North London side with no option but to meet Griezmann's £25m buy-out clause.
The 23-year-old has consistently terrorised defences in La Liga, netting an incredible 16 goals, with a further three assists to boot.

So it is no wonder that Diego Simeone plans to challenge Tottenham for his signature.
Simeone is desperate to land Griezmann after losing striking duo David Villa and Diego Costa in the same season.
And has more than adequate transfer funds after generating over £40m from the sale of his Chelsea converts.
Griezmann has two-years remaining on his contract, and Sociedad run the risk of losing their star for free if they continue to decline offers.
Furthermore the Basque club failed to secure Champions League qualification and without the lure of Europe's premier competition -Sociedad may have to accept Griezmann's Anoeta Stadium exit.
