Everton and Tottenham watch on as Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku saga takes ANOTHER twist
BUNDESLIGA side Wolfsburg have opened talks with Chelsea over signing £20m-rated striker Romelu Lukaku.
The German outfit had been linked with the Belgian, but backed out amid reports Chelsea had slapped a £32m price-tag on their man.
However, Wolfsburg have reignited their interest in Lukaku, and talks over a permanent deal are reported to have begun.
If the striker were to make a move to Dieter Hecking's side, he would become the third Belgian - along with Junior Malanda and former Chelsea player Kevin de Bruyne.
A move to a German side who could only muster a fifth-place finish seems unlikely.
Especially given the players outspoken comments about wanting to "play in the Champions League with a big club."
Speculation over the 21-year-old's Chelsea future has been one of the summers longest running transfer sagas.
Frequent links to Everton, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham and Juventus have all failed to yield any results.
And with no confirmed offer, the rumours are set to rumble on with six weeks left until the season kicks off.
