I want to stay in Europe! Esteban Cambiasso offers hope to suitors Tottenham
TOTTENHAM'S pursuit of Esteban Cambiasso has edged a step closer after the Argentine revealed in an interview he wants to stay in Europe.
Cambiasso, 33, left Inter as a free agent this summer after 10 years at the club and is seeking a team of similar level to maintain his club ambitions.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is a known admirer of the midfielder, who has already outlined he will not be rejoining former club River Plate.
"My career for the time being is still in Europe," he told fcinternews.it.
"I have several proposals from big clubs but as a sign of respect for them I will not reveal the negotiations that my father and my brother are undertaking.
"My future is very far from Argentina."
Cambiasso made over 400 appearances for the San Siro club and was a regular in Walter Mazzarri's XI last season.
