Dnipro admit they're POWERLESS to keep Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs target Konoplyanka
UKRAINIAN side Dnipro have admitted they are powerless to keep Liverpool and Tottenham target Yevhen Konoplyanka out of the clutches of Manchester United.
Recent reports suggest that despite the interest from United Konoplyanka had made a commitment to stay and play in the Champions League with Dnipro next season.
Such a desire would certainly seem to rule out both United and Tottenham, while Liverpool's interest in the winger seems to have cooled since January.
Last month the Dnipro's sporting director Andrey Stetsenko confirmed the presence of a £12m buy-out clause in Konoplyanka's contract.
And now the club's CEO has specifically said they wouldn't be able to resist interest from United if that fee is met.
Yevhen Konoplyanka against England
If Manchester United offer favorable conditions and agree terms with Konoplyanka and pay us the same compensation, no one can do anything.
He said: "Officially, there's a specific amount for which we don't have the right to not release Konoplyanka.
"If Manchester United offer favorable conditions and agree terms with Konoplyanka and pay us the same compensation, no one can do anything."
It now remains to be seen whether United are able to persuade the 24-year-old to make the move to Old Trafford in spite of the absence of Champions League football.
The presence of Louis Van Gaal could well be a deciding factor if Konoplyanka believes the Red Devils will have greater success next season, but United could still be trumped by Liverpool if Brendan Rodgers decides to re-enter the race.
