Southampton's Rickie Lambert to undergo medical at Liverpool after fee agreed
RICKIE LAMBERT is expected to undergo a medical at Liverpool tomorrow after a fee was agreed with Southampton.
Lambert enjoyed a fantastic season for the Saints last term, scoring 14 goals and assisting 11 in all competitions.
England boss Roy Hodgson has rewarded the veteran's efforts with a call up to the World Cup squad, joined by team-mates Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw.
And now the 32-year-old target man is expected to make a move to Anfield in the summer to bolster the Reds attacking options for the Champions League.
Express Sports understands the Reds will pay an initial £4m for the player with the possibility of further add-ons.
If everything goes to plan Lambert will travel to Merseyside after England's friendly with Peru at Wembley on Friday night and could be confirmed a Liverpool player as early as Monday.
Lambert helped guide Southampton to their highest finish in the Premier League as the club's second top goalscorer, behind Jay Rodriguez.
